MKM Ripon helps garden bloom at Harrogate Flower Show.

The North Yorkshire branch of MKM has helped a garden designer win an award at the recent Harrogate Flower Show.

The garden, which scooped a Silver Gilt medal, was designed by first-time show entrant Faith Douglas and titled ‘Healthy Roots: A garden to support’.

Faith said: “I feel that, as human beings, we have forgotten that the roots of our health and well-being come from nature. Most of our medicine can be traced back to the natural world and is readily available in the form of plants that we see every day. When designing the garden, I wanted to remind people of this. ”

The garden was constructed by Morton Interiors and Landscapes and sponsored by MKM Ripon and Braithwaite’s Garden Centre of Leeming Bar.

MKM branch director Simon Baldwin said he was approached by Toby Morton of Morton Interiors and Landscapes to get involved with the contest. Toby is a long-time customer of MKM Ripon, known to the branch for over 10 years.

The sand, cement, jointing compound and sleepers to construct the award-winning garden were supplied by MKM Ripon.

The design symbolised the relationship between nature, health and the well-being of people.

After being presented with a Silver Gilt medal a jubilant Faith said “I am absolutely thrilled with the Silver Gilt medal and I am very much looking forward to doing it again”.
