In the later part of 2017, MKM Building Supplies Hartlepool teamed up once again with the Hartlepool Mail for their ‘Give A Little Gift’ campaign.
The goal was to collect as many gifts as possible, which would then be redistributed to local charities who need the donations during the festive period.
The branch on Burn Road were thrilled with the response this year, having received over 400 presents as well as monetary donations to the charities.
Speaking to the Hartlepool Mail, branch director Mick Sumpter said, “We are over the moon and this is certainly our best year yet. Thank you to all who donated, without your support this appeal wouldn’t be possible.”
Charities to have benfitted from this year’s appeal include Harbour Refuge, Belle Vue Project, Parents in Need of Support, West View Project, St Aidan’s Primary School, Stranton Academy, Bevan House, Hartlepool Carers, Families First, North East Specialist Therapeutic Services and HBC Community Development and Integration.
Mick Sumpter said, “MKM Hartlepool are already planning a bigger and better appeal for Christmas 2018, with a goal to collect 1000 gifts. It’s apparent that there are still groups in Hartlepool who could benefit from the appeal, so next year we intent to step it up!”
Thank you to everyone who has brought a gift in through Christmas 2017, it’s very much appreciated.
