Your Anlaby Directors

Ian Pratt

Ian joined MKM in 1996, just a year after the first MKM branch opened. He started out in the warehouse, progressed to counter sales, desk sales and opened MKM Anlaby in April 2000. Anlaby was the 7th branch of MKM to be born, and Ian has been part of the team there since the start.

Having qualified and worked as a plumber Ian has a keen interest and specialises in light side products, however the team have a wealth of knowledge in building, plumbing, heating and timber.

The newly rebuilt branch (on the same site as the old branch) also features an impressive mezzanine level complete with luxury bathroom and kitchen showroom.

Anlaby MKM is well known in the local area for the buoyant staff and light hearted atmosphere, Ian maintains a great balance of fun and professionalism and this is shown with his many long-standing members of his team.

Outside of work you’ll most likely find Ian on the golf course, probably with one of his regular customers which are just great mates now.

Glenn Paddison

Starting his career on the MKM sales counter in 2006, Glenn is a true MKM success story – rising through the ranks to become the UK’s youngest Branch Director.

Enrolling on the BMF Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service & Sales in 2007, Glenn prepped himself with skills and confidence needed for his role, winning the ‘Advanced Apprentice of the Year’ award at the BMF Members Day and ‘Outstanding Young Achiever in Business and Education’ at the Mail News and Media Awards in 2009.

Continuing to push himself further, Glenn undertook the BMF Diploma in Merchanting over two years where he learnt from a wide range of industry professionals what it took to be a successful Branch Director. Scoring a Distinction in all nine modules of the course, he topped off 2011 with a promotion to Sales Representative.

Glenn was again recognised in 2013 – winning the ‘Trainee of the Year’ award at the Builders’ Merchant News Awards for Excellence and was the BMF/BMJ ‘Highly Recommended Young Merchant Achiever’.

Following this fantastic achievement, Glenn continued his education by enrolling from the first ever Degree in Merchanting through The University of West England – graduating in 2014 with a Distinction. Additional awards followed, including the Lesley Moore award for the ‘Highest Achiever for a Work Based Learner’ and the BMF ‘Special Achievement’ at the BMJ Awards in 2015.

Glenn was able to fulfil his life ambition when he was promoted to the role of Branch Director in 2015, working alongside his mentor and friend Ian Pratt.

Glenn is passionate about rugby league and motor sports and has now taken up golf due to Ian’s influence.
