Crewe: Kitchen Sales Designer

Our successful Crewe branch are looking for someone to drive the kitchen part of the business forward. The branch is open to considering both an experienced Kitchen Sales Designer, or someone with kitchen experience looking to move into a designer role, or someone who is currently designing but with little experience.

Choosing a new kitchen is a big decision for our customers, therefore you will need to get to know them, listen to their needs and work with them every step of the way to ensure their requirements are met. You will identify and recommend the products that best suit their needs, paying close attention to detail and ensuring customer satisfaction every time.

In addition to visitors to our showroom you will need to possess the drive and confidence to pro-actively generate new business. Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous, however training would be offered for a less experienced candidate who shows the correct drive and ambition to make a real success of the role.

Experience of ‘20-20 Fusion’ planning software, or similar, and the ability to demonstrate sound product knowledge of kitchen products would be desirable but not essential. The branch is looking for a candidate who possess a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Crewe: Plumbing and Heating Manager

This is a great opportunity for a pro-active individual to take ownership of the sales and development of our plumbing and heating (lightside) ranges. You will be encouraged and given the freedom to develop your own ideas that support the branch goals, effectively running a ‘business within a business’.

Your overall aim will be to establish and grow our customer base, maximise plumbing and heating sales and profit and make MKM Crewe the place of choice for all plumbing and heating supplies.

You will also be responsible for providing quotations for customers, purchasing materials and managing stock levels. In addition to dealing with customers that come into the branch and approach you, you should also be committed to taking a proactive approach to plumbing and heating sales and use every opportunity to make or increase a sale.

Sound plumbing and heating product knowledge is essential for this role. The successful candidate should also have previous sales experience in a plumbing and heating/ builders merchant environment and have worked at a managerial or supervisory level.

In addition, we are looking for someone who is confident, outgoing, has the ability to build and develop great relationships, a good telephone manner and must be computer literate. We are looking for someone who possesses that extra drive and determination to make a real success of what they do.

Chester: Yard Assistant

In this role you will work as part of our external team of staff. Duties will include assisting customers, providing excellent customer service, loading and unloading vehicles, picking and checking orders, storing stock safely and maintaining a tidy, safe working environment. You will also be responsible for making multi drop deliveries to our customers in the surrounding area in transit van.

You will be working within a small close-knit team and will be dealing with our customers on a daily basis so we are looking for someone that has the likeability factor, someone that our customers will look forward to seeing knowing that they will always receive excellent customer service. You will also be required to be hard working, have a positive attitude and pay attention to detail.

A Full UK Driving Licence and a Counterbalance Forklift Licence are essential for this role. Building industry knowledge would also be advantageous.

Edinburgh: Sales Advisor – Joinery Products

In this position, you will play a key role in the sale of our full range of Joinery products.

Sound joinery product knowledge is essential for this role. The successful candidate should also have previous sales experience in a joinery sales environment.

In addition, we are looking for someone who is confident, outgoing, has the ability to build and develop great customer relationships, a good telephone manner and must be computer literate.

Edinburgh: Sales Advisor

In this position, you will play an instrumental role in the growth and development of the branch, we are therefore looking for a talented, experienced and dedicated candidate to help drive the business forward.

Working as part of the external sales team, the main aim of this role will be to identify new business opportunities, promoting MKM as their supplier of choice and converting this into regular business.

In addition, you will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with existing customers and ensuring they continue to receive great customer service. You will predominantly work in and around the Edinburgh area and will be required to take a pro-active approach to visiting existing and potential customers, building lasting relationships and exceeding their expectations. In all dealings with customers you will be expected to use every opportunity to maximise sales and margin.

Previous experience of working in a similar position within the industry is essential for this role. We would also expect the successful candidate to have excellent product knowledge of a good range of building, plumbing and timber products. In addition you must be an excellent negotiator, confident and enthusiastic.

Haverhill: Internal Salesperson

In this position, you will play a key role in the sale of our full range of building supplies products.

Duties will include providing quotations for customers, purchasing materials and managing stock levels. In addition to dealing with customers that come into the branch and approach you, you should also be committed to taking a proactive approach to building product sales and use every opportunity to make or increase a sale.

Sound building supplies product knowledge is desirable for this role and previous sales experience in a builder’s merchant environment would also be advantageous.

In addition, we are looking for someone who is confident, outgoing, has the ability to build and develop great customer relationships, a good telephone manner and must be computer literate.

Haverhill: Plumbing and Heating Salesperson

Kitchens and bathrooms are an element of what we currently offer at our Haverhill branch, and is an area with great potential for development and growth.

We are looking for an experienced person to drive this part of the business forward.

It is essential that the successful candidate has kitchen and bathroom sales design experience.

Kings Lynn: Business Development Executive

In this position, you will play an instrumental role in the growth and development of the branch, we are therefore looking for a talented, experienced and dedicated candidate to help drive the business forward.

Working as part of the external sales team, the main aim of this role will be to identify new business opportunities, promoting MKM as their supplier of choice and converting this into regular business.

You will predominantly work in and around the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Lincolnshire area and will be required to take a pro-active approach to visiting potential customers, building lasting relationships and exceeding their expectations. In all dealings with customers you will be expected to use every opportunity to maximise sales and margin.

Previous experience of working in a sales position with a proven track record of excellent sales is essential for this role. Having product knowledge of a good range of building, plumbing and timber products would be desirable, but is not essential. In additional you must be an excellent negotiator, confident and enthusiastic.

Kirkcaldy: Kitchen Sales Designer

Kitchens are an element of what we currently offer at our Kirkcaldy branch, but an area with great potential for development and growth.

We are looking for an experienced person to drive this part of the business forward.

Milton Keynes: Internal Salesperson

MKM prides itself on the excellent customer service that we offer to our customers. Our sales staff therefore play a vital role in the success of the branch. We are hence looking for a dynamic, confident and experienced salesperson to help us drive the business forward. In this position, you will play a key role in the sale of our full range of building supplies.

Duties will include providing, and following up quotations for customers on our full product range as well as purchasing materials and managing stock levels across all product categories.

The successful candidate will need to be able to liaise and build relationships effectively with customers both face to face and over the telephone, ensuring they are providing excellent customer service at all times as well as sound product advice. In addition to dealing with customers that come into the branch and approach you, you should also be committed to taking a proactive approach to building supplies sales and use every opportunity to make or increase a sale.

Sound building supplies product knowledge is essential for this role and the successful candidate should also have previous sales experience from a builder’s merchant environment.

We are looking for someone who is confident and outgoing, with the ability to build and develop great customer relationships. A good telephone manner is vital and computer literacy is a must.

Milton Keynes: HGV Driver

In this role you will be responsible for multi drop deliveries to customers in the surrounding area, providing top quality customer service.

The role involves driving the Class 2 HGV vehicles, there a Class 2 licence, digital tachograph card and up to date CPC training is essential. HIAB certification and experience would be a distinct advantage for this role.

As a driver you are the face of MKM to many of our customers and as such you should be of smart appearance and have a positive, friendly and helpful manner. You should also be enthusiastic, hardworking and have a positive attitude.

Warrington: Trainee HGV Driver Apprenticeship

You will join MKM as a Trainee HGV Driver and we will support you through your training to gain your Apprenticeship. For the first 3 months of your employment, and prior to starting your apprenticeship, you will spend time in other departments, so you can experience all aspects of merchanting and become familiar with MKM’s culture.

The Apprenticeship

Level 2 Standard, Large Goods Vehicle Apprenticeship

This apprenticeship is designed to help drivers get their lorry licence and gain skills to become a valuable member of the MKM Warrington team.

This apprenticeship will cover the following - preparation of a vehicle, safe and fuel-efficient driving, returned goods, using technology, awareness of own role, planning delivery, safe use of equipment, protection of driver, vehicle and load, structure of industry and building relationships.

To apply for this role, you must hold a standard UK driving licence and be over 18 years old. You must also hold a Provisional Category C driving licence prior to starting your apprenticeship.

Unlike some apprenticeships, which pay the apprenticeship rate and may not result in employment upon completion, here at MKM we will pay you the minimum wage from day one and the position is a permanent one.

In return we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the desire and potential to learn quickly and develop a career with MKM. Whilst GCSEs are not essential reasonable grades, Grade C and above would be helpful. In addition, you should be smartly presented, confident and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Whitby: Trade Counter Sales

Working within the sales team, the main purpose of your role will be to maximise sales and margin by building first class relationships with customers both over the telephone and face to face, whilst maintaining excellent customer service. In this position, you will play a key role in the sales of our full range of timber, sheet and joinery products and is a great opportunity for a pro-active individual to take ownership of these product ranges.

Your overall aim will be to establish and grow our customer base, maximise sales and profit and make MKM York the place of choice for all Timber, Sheet and Joinery customers. You will be encouraged and given the freedom to develop your own ideas that support the branch goals, effectively running a ‘business within a business’.

You should already be experienced within the industry within a Timber, Sheet and Joinery sales role, having operated at a supervisory or managerial level and also be someone with that extra drive and determination to make a real success of what you do.

You should be confident, motivated, charismatic, have excellent product knowledge, great attention to detail, a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service and be able to develop and maintain great customer relationships. Being computer literate is also a must.
