Beverley: HGV/LGV Driver

In this role you will be responsible for multi drop deliveries to customers in the surrounding area, providing top quality customer service. Knowledge of the building industry will be an advantage. In addition to your driving duties we would expect you to be flexible and assist with yard/warehouse duties should the need arise.

HIAB Certification would be a distinct advantage for this role. You will also need a digital tachograph card and up to date CPC training.

As a driver you are the face of MKM to many of our customers and as such you should be of smart appearance and have a positive, friendly and helpful manner.

Bishop Auckland: Plumbing and Heating Salesperson

In this position, you will play a key role in the sale of our full range of plumbing and heating products.

Duties will include providing quotations for customers, purchasing materials and managing stock levels. In addition to dealing with customers that come into the branch and approach you, you should also be committed to taking a proactive approach to plumbing and heating sales and use every opportunity to make or increase a sale.

Sound plumbing and heating product knowledge is essential for this role. The successful candidate should also have previous sales experience in a plumbing and heating merchant environment.

In addition, we are looking for someone who is confident, outgoing, has the ability to build and develop great customer relationships, a good telephone manner and must be computer literate.

Crewe: Plumbing & Heating Salesperson/Manager

In this position, you will play a key role in the sale of our full range of plumbing and heating products.

Duties will include providing quotations for customers, purchasing materials and managing stock levels. In addition to dealing with customers that come into the branch and approach you, you should also be committed to taking a proactive approach to plumbing and heating sales and use every opportunity to make or increase a sale.

Haverhill: Various Vacancies

We are now recruiting for a number of vacancies at our NEW Haverhill branch. We are currently looking for experienced people in the following positions:

- Kitchen and Bathroom Sales Designer
- Salespeople
- Yard Assistant

King's Lynn: Yard Labourer

In this role, you will be responsible for a keeping the yard and warehouse area in a clean and tidy condition and ensuring stock is placed in the relevant location, within the branch.

You will be working within a small close-knit team, so we are looking for someone who is friendly, motivated, enthusiastic and pays attention to detail.

Leisure Division: Apprentice Driver and Warehouse Operative

You will join MKM Leisure Division as an Apprentice Driver and Warehouse Operative and we will support you with training and on the job work experience to gain your Apprenticeship.

In this role you learn how to carry out a range of delivery driving and warehouse duties within the business, which include:

Warehouse Duties:
•Drive Counterbalance and Flexi Fork Lift Trucks
•Unload delivery vehicles
•Put goods away
•Carry out picking and stock keeping
•Carry out tasks on the computer such as confirming pick notes, and checking stock
•Carry out product assembly and cutting to size as required

Driving Duties:
•Drive delivery vehicles up to category “C” (class 2)
•Load vehicles and secure loads safely
•Ensure Tacho and CPC requirements are met
•Make accurate deliveries to correct customer delivery locations
•Maintain stock levels at supplier managed “Kanban” locations at our customer’s sites
•Communicate effectively with customers when making deliveries

Health and Safety:
•Warehouse Health and Safety and current vehicle operation legislation and safety

You will also get an overview of other areas of the Leisure Division to ensure you gain a full understanding of the business.

Unlike some apprenticeships, which pay the apprenticeship rate and may not result in employment upon completion, here at MKM we will pay you the minimum wage from day one and we would expect to offer a permanent job on satisfactory completion of the apprenticeship.

In return we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the desire and potential to learn quickly and develop a career with MKM. Whilst GCSEs are not essential reasonable grades in Maths, English and IT would be helpful. In addition, you should hold a full driving licence and be smartly presented, confident and have a positive ‘can do’ attitude.

Perth: Warehouse Assistant

In this role you will work as part of our external team of staff. Duties will include helping and advising customers, providing excellent customer service, loading and unloading vehicles, picking and checking orders, storing stock safely and maintaining a tidy and safe working environment.

Previous experience in a similar position within the industry is essential for this role and a counterbalance forklift truck licence would be a distinct advantage.

You will be working within a small close-knit team and will be dealing with our customers on a daily basis so we are looking for someone that has the likeability factor, someone that our customers will look forward to seeing knowing that they will always receive excellent customer service. You should also have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, good numeracy skills and great attention to detail.

Peterlee: Timber Salesperson

The role of Timber Salesperson is a vital part of our plans for the growth of the branch.

This is a fantastic opportunity where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of and drive forward sales of timber, sheet and joinery with the aim of increasing our customer base, sales and profit and making MKM Peterlee the place of choice for all timber related supplies.

You should already be an experienced salesperson within the industry, preferably serving a local and varied customer base. Scarborough: Kitchen and Bathroom Sales Designer

Kitchen and bathrooms are an element of what we offer at our Scarborough branch, and is an area with great potential for development and growth.

We are looking for an experienced person to drive this part of the business forward.

Choosing a new kitchen or bathroom is a big decision for our customers, therefore you will need to get to know them, listen to their needs and work with them every step of the way to ensure their requirements are met. You will identify and recommend the products that best suit their needs, paying close attention to detail and ensuring customer satisfaction every time.

In addition to visitors to our showroom, you will need to possess the drive and confidence to pro-actively generate new business. You should have previous experience in a similar role and a proven track record of achievement.

You should also have experience of ‘20-20 Fusion’ or ‘Planet’ planning software, or similar, and be able to demonstrate your sound product knowledge of kitchen and bathroom products. In addition to your product knowledge you should possess a genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service.
