About MKM MKM is the largest independent Builder’s Merchant in the UK. It has grown from a standing start in 1995 to a network of 39 branches, located mainly along the east coast, from as far north as Perth in Scotland to Deal in the south of England. The company attributes its success to continually delivering excellent customer service which it does by training people to the highest standard so they are knowledgeable about the products they sell.
MKM supplies a wide range of customers, from large building contractors and Local Authorities, through to smaller companies, partnerships, sole traders and retail customers. Every customer is important and branches are keen to develop and retain good customer relationships.

Modern Apprenticeships: This is an excellent opportunity for young people to learn whilst they earn and gain a nationally recognised qualification. The Modern Apprenticeship route may be right for you if:
- You are aged between 18 and 23 years old.
- You want to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
- You have reasonable GCSE grades in maths and English (IT would be useful too).
- You have a 'can do' attitude.
- You are confident and ambitious.
- You want to develop a career in merchanting.

This team is based in Hull and employs staff in the following functions: Finance, Credit Control, Purchase Ledger, Information Technology, Human Resources, Marketing, Product Management and Reception/Administration.
