MKM Grimsby was the group’s main sponsor and helped to fund the trip. The team made the 300 mile journey in a Ferrari, Jaguar and three Lotuses and raised money for the charity by setting up a free bar at the event with a donation bucket.
Organiser Craig Brabben, 38, of Waltham, said: "We go every two years to the Classic and we thought that we would try to raise some money for When You Wish upon a Star this time. The reason we chose the organisation is because we are living our dream by going and we want the poorly children to be able to live theirs.”
Nigel Jackson, Branch Director of MKM Grimsby, said: "We sponsored all of the cars and also helped raise money with collection buckets. We are very keen on supporting local charities. What the group did is a fantastic way of raising awareness and funds.”
Driver Walter Wright, 73, said: "I am a big racing fan and I really wanted to get involved. I drove a Lotus Esprit dressed as James Bond. The journey is roughly 300 miles and I have toured before and really enjoy it.”
