MKM Scarborough and Grimsby raise funds for charity
We are pleased to report that two of our branches, MKM Scarborough and MKM Grimsby, have both raised funds for charity recently by organising a variety of fundraising events. Here’s what they have been up to:

At the end of July, 16 staff members and customers from our Scarborough branch completed a sponsored 10,000ft skydive for local charity, St Catherine's Hospice. The team raised a grand total of £3,000, which will really make a difference to the Hospice. We are sure you will agree this is a great achievement for everyone involved and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank the Skydive Club in Grindale for helping them.

St Catherine’s Hospice is a place where adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions are cared for. The work the hospice does is fantastic, which is why the team at MKM Scarborough was so dedicated in trying to help.

MKM Grimsby has also been busy organising charity events. The branch and its customers raised an impressive £530 by hosting a Macmillan Great Breakfast Morning. The money raised will help Macmillan Cancer Support to improve the lives of people affected by cancer, including families and carers.

The branch also contributed £100 towards replacing an iconic vandalised statue in Cleethorpes. The statue, ‘The Boy and the Leaking Boot’ was recently found smashed in the Diana Princess of Wales memorial garden. You’ll most certainly know about this if you live in the Grimsby area – it was all over the news!

Finally, our Grimsby branch is also helping to support Cheyne Philips, who is fighting for England in Kuala Lumper, Malaysia, with the Great Britain Karate Team – so good luck to him!
