As Product Manager for a highly successful independent Builders Merchant you will be in a key role providing support to our 36 strong branch network. With responsibility for either timber products or bathrooms, kitchens and plumbing & heating products, dependent upon your role, you will negotiate the best possible terms with suppliers and provide our branches with supplier and product support, helping to increase profitability.
Keys tasks will include managing supplier accounts and negotiating terms, selecting new suppliers, launching new products including the development and organisation of these promotions, reviewing product ranges and re-sourcing products from new suppliers to improve margins and service levels.
You will also implement the agreed product strategy and will conduct performance gap analysis across the branch network and present the findings.
Key to your success will be your ability to get our branches ‘on board’ with supplier deals to maximise take up. You will therefore need to be able to adapt to the individual styles of each branch.
To be successful you should have experience in the same or a similar industry with excellent product knowledge and attention to detail. You should be able to forge relationships with suppliers and branches with ease, possess strong organisational and negotiation skills, and be confident and pro active.
